A thirty-six-year-old Austrian from Styria is the first covid patient to be cured by a bloodbath in Austria.
According to the "Kleine Zeitung" daily, he spent a month in the intensive care unit fighting for his life.
After applying blood plasma therapy, he was transferred from the intensive care unit and has already tested negative for the coronavirus three times, reports Tanjug.
The patient was seriously ill with the coronavirus because he has an innate problem with immunity, that is, he cannot produce specific antibodies.
He had a high fever for four weeks, and he also had pneumonia and breathing problems. At the university clinic in Graz, he was given blood plasma from people cured of the coronavirus, which gave an excellent result.
Blood plasma is also used in clinics in the provinces of Tyrol and Salzburg, and the patient from Graz is the first in Austria to be cured by this type of therapy.
