In Switzerland, 300 people were quarantined after the outbreak of the coronavirus in a nightclub in Zurich, the local authorities announced today.
A man who was at the Flamingo club a week ago was tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday, and five people who were with him at the time also tested positive on Friday.
Through a guest list provided by the club, authorities contacted the other people who were present and ordered them to remain in quarantine for 10 days to try to stop any further spread of the infection until they were all tested.
Swiss officials say the incident shows how important it is to adhere to hygiene and social distancing regulations as government-imposed measures are now being relaxed.
They added that if such cases continue to happen in clubs, they will have to close them again.
Like many European countries, Switzerland managed to suppress the infection and start relaxing the measures.
In the last 24 hours, 69 new cases of infection were registered in that country.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 31.555 people have been infected, and 1.681 have died.
