The Irish Prime Minister, Michael Martin, will convene the parliament due to the political scandal related to the coronavirus epidemic, and has also asked the European Commissioner for Trade, the Irishman Phil Hogan, to consider his resignation.
Martin and his coalition partners agreed to convene the parliament, the prime minister's spokesman said today.
This decision followed discontent among politicians after it was revealed that the gala dinner was held despite health restrictions related to the pandemic.
The dinner was held on Wednesday evening, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Parliamentary Golf Club.
There were 82 guests at the dinner, including Hogan, and several officials resigned due to his attendance, including the Minister of Agriculture.
