Heavy snowfall trapped 13 thousand tourists in Zermatt, one of the most popular Swiss ski resorts.
The snow has blocked all the roads and the train leading to the resort in the southern Swiss canton of Valais, which also has problems with power supply.
Officials announced that it is currently not possible to get to Zermatt, nor to leave it, as the main road is closed.
The resort was almost full because it has 13.400 places for tourists, and 5.5 locals live there.
To make the situation even worse, due to the high risk of avalanches, tourists will not even be able to use the ski slopes.
Along with the snow, the roads were also closed by a large landslide of mud and stones.
