In the parking lot near the covid center in Naples this morning, a large crater opened in the ground, 20 meters deep, with noise, breaking and the sound of an explosion, reports Tanjug.
Tons of earth, asphalt, stones and several cars that were parked there fell into the abyss with a noise.
On the spot, reports the Agi agency, there are firefighters who, along with sniffer dogs, are trying to determine whether there are people among the collapsed material and vehicles.
For now, there is no information about the injured or possibly missing.
The crater and the collapse of the ground damaged the cables and pipes, so it was necessary to evacuate the hostel, the building where lighter covid patients are housed, but the central hospital and the main covid-center were not damaged or threatened, so they continue to work.
The authorities rule out the possibility of a deliberate explosion, and the police are investigating the causes.
The agency reminds that there have been heavy rains in Naupul in the past few days.
