German police announced today that they arrested a 51-year-old German on suspicion of setting fire to a bag of illegal firecrackers at a Hamburg subway station.
The press release states that the judge ordered that the man remain in custody pending an investigation.
A small explosion broke a window at the Fedel station on Sunday and briefly raised fears of a possible terrorist attack.
The police did not provide details about the suspect, but the Bild newspaper said that it was Štefan K, a previously convicted Hamburg resident linked to neo-Nazi groups.
