A 25-year-old man from Bosnia and Herzegovina was arrested in Graz, Austria, on suspicion of planning an attack on the Christmas market in that Austrian city, the local police announced, reports Tanjug.

The man, whose identity has not been released and authorities say is of Islamic faith, is said to have been arrested on December 1 at a shelter where people had seen him studying videos of last year's attacks in Nice and Berlin.

"Witnesses heard him talking about Berlin and the victims there," said the police spokesman.

It is stated that the arrested person visited mosques, but it is not yet known if he was radicalized or if he had collaborators.

Last year, 12 people were killed at the Christmas fair in Berlin, when a terrorist of Tunisian origin drove a truck into the visitors of the fair.
