German police announced today that they detained a woman on suspicion of arson a fire in a residential building in the city of Saarbrücken in the west of Germany, in which four people died. The police stated that a 37-year-old woman resident of the five-story building where the fire broke out yesterday was taken into custody. Four people were killed in the fire in Saarbrücken, at least 23 were injured, 10 of whom are in the hospital. A 42-year-old man was seriously injured when he jumped from the roof of the building where the fire was spreading. More than a hundred firefighters were sent to the scene yesterday to rescue the occupants of the building. The fire most likely started on the first or second floor of the building and soon spread to higher floors.
