The European Parliament has approved the European Union's trade agreement with Great Britain after Brexit, according to the voting results published this morning.
Last night, the EP voted for that agreement with 660 votes of MPs, five of them were against, and 32 abstained from the 697 present.
Parliament President David Sasoli welcomed last night's vote on "the most ambitious agreement ever concluded by the EU with a country".
The agreement has already been ratified by Great Britain and has conditionally entered into force pending acceptance by the European Parliament.
The European Parliament, in addition to voting on the agreement, adopted a non-binding resolution in which MPs consider Brexit a "historic mistake".
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today hailed the European Parliament's vote on a post-Brexit trade agreement between the EU and Great Britain as the "last step in a long journey". The agreement, which was reached at the end of December and which has already been temporarily applied since the beginning of the year, "brings stability to our new relationship with the EU as vital trading partners and close allies", announced the British Prime Minister.
