A Russian court has ruled to enforce a fine against Facebook for violating Russian laws on illegal content, it was announced today.
A court in Moscow ordered the bailiffs to collect 26 million rubles (more than $361.000) from Facebook.
Russia's watchdog Roskomnadzor has asked the judiciary to punish Facebook for failing to remove content it deems illegal, including calls for unsanctioned anti-Kremlin protests.
During the year, Roskomnadzor ordered Facebook to pay a total of 80 million rubles ($1,1 million) in fines and added that the social network has not yet paid any.
