As of Tuesday, January 4, tattoo artists are prohibited from making tattoos in colors, which experts claim contain carcinogenic chemicals, on the territory of the European Union.
About four thousand chemicals used in the production of permanent makeup and colored ink will be banned, according to "Independent".
The new rules were approved a year ago, and the EU gave a XNUMX-month transition period for makeup artists and the make-up industry to change their recipes.
The biggest problem is blue and green pigments, which are present in 60 percent of tattoo inks, reports Klix.
Nevertheless, the masters claim that they have never had any problems with any reactions.
"I didn't have any complaints about, say, allergic reactions, and especially not cancer or the like. There is no relevant study in the world that would connect the color from the tattoo ink with that," the owner of the tattoo parlor told Croatian media.
Tatu masters point out that they are worried, because this ban will harm their business, but also that no one understands how serious this industry is.
"It looks like a joke to people, but it's a serious industry. People will continue to do it, just in apartments and without regulation," said the owner.
"How will you control it, maybe with some dad confirmations?" was one of the comments on social networks.
Some of them also referred to the preservatives that we ingest daily through food.
"Interestingly, exactly the same chemicals are allowed in food. Feel free to study which preservatives are involved. Therefore, you must not introduce that chemical compound through the skin, but you can use it without any problems in pureed tomatoes, canned mushrooms and the like", is one of the comments .
