The Ukrainian Defense Minister is ready to meet with his Russian counterpart: On the crisis with Western partners

Defense Minister of Ukraine Alexander Reznikov said that he is ready to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu as part of international negotiations and with the participation of partners.

"If on the sidelines of the summit in Brussels or in Munich with our partners from the United States, Great Britain and Northern Ireland it is suggested that I meet with Shoigu, I will be ready for that meeting," said Reznikov.

He stated that Kiev currently does not see the danger of a Russian "invasion" of Ukraine, stating that the intelligence data of Ukraine and the intelligence services of partner countries match, but there is a difference in their interpretation.

"We are analyzing the situation at a distance of 200 kilometers from the border. They are getting closer, they are even withdrawing their troops, holding military maneuvers," said Reznikov.

He emphasized that until this moment, the Russian Armed Forces have not formed a strike group that could carry out a military invasion of Ukraine, agencies report.

The West accuses Russia of allegedly preparing an invasion of Ukraine and of supporting it, and the fact that Moscow has significantly increased its military presence along the border with Ukraine.

Russia firmly rejects these accusations as unfounded and dangerous and points out that it is moving military forces on its territory in accordance with its Constitution, and that the West is using all this as an excuse to expand to the east.
