The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has announced that it has begun evaluating requests for approval of an additional dose of the Pfizer-Biontek vaccine against Kovid-19 for children aged 12 to 15, reports AFP.
Last week, the EMA announced that it would soon make a statement on a similar requirement for XNUMX-year-olds and XNUMX-year-olds.
"Revision of the request for applying a supplementary dose to sixteen-year-olds and seventeen-year-olds is in progress," it was stated in the announcement, as reported by N1.
In October last year, the EMA approved additional doses of the Pfizer-Biontek vaccine for all people over the age of 18, followed by a similar decision for the Moderna vaccine.
Marko Kavaljeri from the EMA team for immunization strategy said last week that vaccination, and especially supplementary doses, "is still the best way to protect against serious diseases" caused by the micron strain of coronavirus, AFP reminds.
