A delegation of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) visited the chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Montenegro Natalija Fijalka, and expressed full sympathy, support and solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine, as well as support for the independence, unity and sovereignty of that country.
As announced by the DPS, the party's delegation strongly condemned the senseless act of Russian aggression against a sovereign, European state.
"Members of the delegation expressed their admiration and great respect for the people of Ukraine and the leadership of that country, who all together today defend the right to freedom and territorial integrity of Ukraine, preserving at the same time the fundamental values of modern European civilization. During the meeting with the charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Montenegro, Her E. Natalija Fijalko also exchanged information about Ukrainian refugees arriving in Montenegro, whose number is growing day by day, and about the modalities of assistance to the vulnerable population," the DPS statement states.
They add that throughout history, Montenegro and its citizens have repeatedly shown humanity and solidarity towards people who were forced to leave their homes, providing them with refuge in difficult times of war destruction.
"Just as today they show understanding for the suffering that the Ukrainian people are going through. The Democratic Party of Socialists will strongly advocate that Montenegro and its state institutions help the global efforts of the democratic world in defending the freedom and independence of Ukraine, so that the citizens of that country can continue as soon as possible normal life in peacetime conditions," the announcement states.
The DPS delegation consisted of Vice President Jevto Eraković, Secretary General Aleksandar Bogdanović, Head of the Deputies' Club Danijel Živković, and members of the Presidency: Aleksandra Vuković, Nikola Rakočević, Andrija Nikolić.
