While the sun was waking up over Ukraine, the people of this country - regardless of the fact that the war did not stop even during the holidays - celebrated Easter.
From Kiev, through Lviv, to Buča, which the world heard about in the previous days because of the large number of civilians killed.
For the third year in a row, Ukrainians are spending the big religious holiday in extraordinary circumstances - after two marked by the Covid-19 virus pandemic.
"Both last year's threat and the current one are united by one thing - nothing can defeat Ukraine. The great holiday today gives us great hope and unshakable faith that light will defeat darkness, good will defeat evil, and life will defeat death. And that's why Ukraine will surely win." , President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Ukrainian people in his Easter address.
Easter was celebrated in Buča - a city in the Kyiv region, where a large number of civilians died during the war.
As well as in Lviv in the west of Ukraine.
In the capital city of Kiev, where peace reigns in recent days, the faithful celebrated Easter in the Cathedral of St. Vladimir, as well as in the Cathedral of St. Sophia, from which Zelenski addressed the citizens.
The orchestra of the Airborne Armed Forces of Ukraine wished "peaceful skies" over this country.
Russia did not stop its attacks on Ukraine even during the holidays, regardless of calls from the United Nations and Zelensky himself.
