Kremlin: Possible meeting between Putin and Zelensky

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that he does not rule out a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, but that "it is necessary to prepare any such talks in advance", reports Reuters.

Peskov told reporters that the work on the peace document with Ukraine was stopped a long time ago and has not been renewed.

He added that people in the Ukrainian regions of Kherson, Zaporozhye and Donbass - which were occupied by the Russians - must decide their own future and the Kremlin has no doubts that they will make the "best decision".

Ukraine previously announced that the annexation of any of the regions by Russia would end the peace talks between the two sides.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said yesterday that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during the conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, emphasized that he wanted to meet with Vladimir Putin.
