The former health minister and one of the champions of the British Conservatives, Sajid Javid, said today that his party is threatened with "electoral oblivion" if it does not change, reports the BBC.
"Over the past couple of years, our reputation for values and politics has declined. Too many people now believe that Labor should govern," Javid said.
He added that there are Britons who think Labor is more capable and more likely to cut taxes than the Conservatives.
Javid said the political situation in Britain was starting to "feel very familiar", recalling the defeat of the Conservatives in the 1997 election.
"The way things are going lately, I fear that our party is once again on the path to the same electoral oblivion," Javid said.
