While Western anti-tank weapons are helping the Ukrainian military fend off Russian armored vehicles, high-mobility missile systems (HIMARS) supplied by the United States of America (US) have helped reduce the Russian military's firepower by blowing up ammunition depots, command centers and other key goals, it says Radio Free Europe (RSE).
Ukrainian forces claim that HIMARS makes a difference on the battlefield.
"It was hell here. There was constant shelling, day and night. But now it's calmer since the HIMARS was damaged in the attack on the ammunition depot in Izum and after our unit pushed the Russian army out of Slavyansk," said Ruslan Andriiko, a soldier from Karpatska It cuts.
Destroyed Russian tanks are scattered across eastern Ukraine.
