Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that it is in Russia's interest to spread "the lie that energy prices have risen because of the war" in Ukraine, as this will create fatigue in the West about supporting his country.
In a video address to the Bled Strategic Forum, Zelenski said that the claim about high energy prices due to the war "is not true", because their prices were "artificially increased" even before the start of Russian aggression, reports Hina.
Zelenski claims that the Russians artificially and deliberately raised the prices of energy products, "previously hidden, and now openly".
Speaking about the world's weariness with the war in Ukraine and its consequences, Zelensky said that it is a "big risk", but that any concessions to Moscow would lead to new aggression, which has already happened after the annexation of Crimea and the occupation of part of Donbass.
"You can't get tired of fighting for your life, I hope you won't have to do that on your territories. Ukraine is now playing that role," Zelensky said.
