The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published a report on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, reports Reuters.
In the report, the IAEA pointed out that there is an urgent need to introduce "temporary measures" to prevent a nuclear accident that would result from physical damage to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
She stated that she is ready to immediately start consultations that would lead to the immediate establishment of a nuclear safety zone in Zaporizhia, and emphasized that she is very worried about the situation at the nuclear plant.
The IAEA said its team observed damage done at various locations, some of which were near the reactor building.
The report recommended that the conditions under which Ukrainian personnel work at the nuclear power plant be improved.
Ukrainian personnel are under constant high stress and pressure, especially as there is a limited number of people available, the IAEA said, adding that this is not sustainable and could lead to increased human error that could have an impact on nuclear safety.
The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, and a team of experts visited the nuclear plant last Sunday. Two IAEA experts remained at the facility as observers.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukraine had fired 20 artillery shells at the city of Energodar and the area around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant over the past 24 hours.

Radiation levels at the site, home to Europe's largest nuclear power plant, remained normal.
Reuters added it could not verify the reports.
