The realization of the deadly plan of Islamist terrorists was prevented on Saturday in Paris, the French police revealed today.
An improvised explosive device was found in the immediate vicinity of the PSŽ stadium just a few hours before that team's match with Bordeaux.
A device with four gas cylinders soaked in gasoline was found, and five people were arrested, including an Islamist extremist who was supposed to be followed.
The cylinders were connected to a mobile phone that would trigger the explosion.
About 50 thousand people were in the stadium that day for the match against Bordeaux.
The case was reported to the police by one of the citizens who spotted a suspicious device.
In November 2015, the Stade de France attack began a series of coordinated attacks across Paris that killed 130 people.
