The Kremlin is very concerned about the leaks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines

The Kremlin today expressed "extreme concern" over the leaks observed on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, assessing that no hypothesis should be ruled out, including sabotage.

"We are extremely concerned about the news," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

When asked by the journalist if it was possible that it was sabotage, he replied that neither option can be ruled out.

The Swedish authorities announced today that warnings have been issued due to two cases of leaks from the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in Swedish and Danish waters, the day after a leak was also reported on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Both pipelines are currently not working, but there is gas in the pipes.

Denmark immediately put its energy infrastructure on alert, with the assessment that it is still too early to say what the causes of these simultaneous incidents are.
