French authorities have called on national museums to be extra vigilant after a series of attacks by environmental activists on works exhibited in museums and other institutions, the media reported today.

Over the weekend, an activist from the "Last Renewal" collective interrupted the opera performance "The Magic Flute" in a theater in Paris, by climbing onto the stage and hanging onto the decor.
