A court in Russia fined the Wikimedia Foundation, the owner of the Wikipedia platform, a fine of two million rubles (about 32.800 euros) for deleting false information.
The case was initiated by the Agency for Scientific Technologies and Mass Media Supervision (Roskomnadzor) against the Wikimedia Foundation, which was decided by a court in Moscow, reports N1.
The court stated that false information about the Russian army was not deleted from Wikipedia, nor did the defendant comply with the law, which is why the Wikimedia Foundation was fined two million rubles.
Wikipedia was previously fined five million rubles (about 81.800 euros) for similar reasons.
