Europe will continue to support Ukraine "as long as necessary" in its relationship with Russia, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said today at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"Our unwavering support for Ukraine will never waver," Von der Leyen said.
She added that this assistance is reflected in the "re-establishment of electricity, heating and water supplies, as well as preparations for long-term reconstruction efforts" in the country.
Addressing the participants of the Forum in Davos, Ursula von der Leyen said that the European Commission will prepare laws for industries without greenhouse gas emissions, encouraging green technologies.
"The new regulation will set clear goals for clean technology by 2030. The goal will be to focus investments on strategic projects along supply chains, as well as simplify and speed up procedures for the approval of new production sites," said the president of the European Commission.
She also condemned "aggressive attempts" to attract industrial capacity from Europe "towards China and elsewhere", especially in the area of clean energy technologies.
Ursula von der Leyen added that the European Union will not hesitate to open investigations if it considers that European markets are threatened by such subsidies.
