Kremlin: It is too early to say whether Putin will run for the presidential elections next year

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet said whether he will run again in the country's presidential elections scheduled for 2024, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Putin was not in the mood for a campaign, because he is currently very busy," Peskov told the Moscow daily Izvestia, as reported by N1.

She says that they did not hear her say anything about whether or not she will run for office.

"That means it's still a little early," Peskov said.

Putin, who ordered Russia's invasion of neighboring Ukraine last February, was Russia's president from 2000 to 2008 and from 2012.

Due to amendments to the Russian constitution, he would be legally allowed to run for president again next year.

In the past, Putin has announced his candidacy quite late in the run-up to elections, even though it was widely believed that he planned to retain power.
