According to the Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilna, Russian rockets hit residential buildings in Slavyansk in eastern Ukraine, killing 11 people and injuring 21 others.
Parts of the apartment blocks were turned into a pile of metal and concrete, reports Suspilne, referring to the regional emergency services.
Donetsk Oblast Governor Pavlo Kirilenko announced that "at least seven places were hit" in Slavyansk, west of the city of Bakhmut, reports Reuters.
The emergency services announced that several dozen multi-story buildings and houses were damaged in the attack.
"The evil state shows its essence once again," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote in a post alongside a video of the damaged building.
"They just kill people in broad daylight. They ruin, destroy all life," he said.
In his nightly video address, Zelensky said that not a single hour had passed before the Orthodox Easter services "without Russian murders and terror."
"This is an evil country and it will be a loser. Victory is our duty," said Zelenski.
Over the past 24 hours, Russia has continued its intense bombing of areas in eastern Ukraine, including an attack on a residential building in the city of Slovyansk, killing at least nine people, the Ukrainian military said.
The Ukrainian General Staff said the Russian military had fired 13 S-300 anti-aircraft missiles at Slovyansk and nearby Kramatorsk, both in the Donetsk region.
Both Slovyansk and Kramatorsk are under increased attack by Russian forces currently stationed in nearby Bakhmut, a city they have been trying to capture for months, reports Free Europe.
The Headquarters pointed out that the Ukrainian army repelled 56 Russian attacks in the towns of Liman, Bahmut, Avdijivka and Marinka in the Donetsk region.
In Slovjanska, rescuers spent the whole night searching the ruins for survivors. A 70-year-old woman was rescued.
"One child died on the way to the hospital after the rescue," President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's office announced.

Fighters of the Russian mercenary group Wagner captured two more areas of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
This was reported by Russian news agencies based on the announcement of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
Reuters reports that they could not independently confirm these reports.
Ukrainian troops have been forced to withdraw from some territory in Bakhmut after Russia launched an offensive there with intense artillery fire over the past two days, Britain said in intelligence on Friday.
The war in Ukraine entered its 415th day. See yesterday's events from Eastern Europe at the link below.
