A court in Moscow issued a decision ordering the arrest in absentia of Bulgarian investigative journalist Krista Grozev.
TASS reported today that the Russian Ministry of Justice added Grozev to its list of "foreign agents."
"The court ordered a two-month preventive detention measure for Grozev. Detention begins from the moment of extradition to Russian territory, i.e. from the moment he crosses the Russian state border and is extradited,'' the court announced.
Grozev is a leading journalist covering events in Russia for the Bellingcat investigative news group. He played a key role in her investigation into the poisoning of opposition politician Alexei Navalny and writes about Moscow's aggression against Ukraine.
Grozev is currently not in Russia.
In 2022, Russian authorities put him on a wanted list, accusing him of helping Ukrainian intelligence.
