Slightly more than 1,7 out of a total of 3,4 million Turks living abroad with the right to vote went to the second round of presidential elections in which Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kilicdaroglu participated.
Among those in the diaspora, 807 Turkish citizens living in Montenegro also voted, and they overwhelmingly voted for Kilicdaroglu, who was defeated in the second round.
As reported by Al Jazeera Balkans, he received 683 votes in Montenegro, i.e. 84,63 percent of the votes.
On the other hand, 124 of them or 15,37 voted for the new/old President Erdogan.
After 95 percent of open ballot boxes, Erdogan received 59,4 percent, while Kilicdaroglu had 40,6 percent of votes from and abroad.
With more than 99 percent of domestic and foreign votes counted, Erdogan received 52,16 percent and his opponent 47,84 percent.
