The Russian military announced today that it received more than 2.000 pieces of equipment, 2.500 tons of ammunition and 20.000 pieces of light weapons from the Wagner paramilitary group, thanks to an agreement reached after the failed uprising in June, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Telegram.
The posted video shows soldiers inspecting tanks, armored personnel carriers, ammunition boxes, Kalashnikovs and mines. Wagner's boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, agreed to hand over weapons to Russian regular troops after he ended his rebellion.
"All the equipment has been delivered to the rear of the front, where the overhaul units of the Russian Armed Forces perform maintenance," the ministry added.
During the rebellion, Wagner's troops occupied the military headquarters in southern Russia for several hours and traveled several hundred kilometers towards Moscow. The rebellion ended on the evening of June 24, with an agreement that provided for Prigozhin's departure to Belarus.
His fighters were offered by President Vladimir Putin to join regular troops, go to Belarus or return to civilian life.
