President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian army is facing difficulties on the front lines in the east and south of the country, but that it was dominant in its campaign, Hina agency reports.
"The fighting is tough. The occupiers are trying to stop our guys with all their might. Very fierce attacks," Zelenski said in his video address tonight, referring to several centers in the east where fighting is raging.
"Everything is difficult in the south. But whatever the enemy does, Ukrainian strength dominates," Zelensky said.
More than 230.000 soldiers have been recruited into the Russian army since the beginning of the year, former President Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday, as Russia's offensive in Ukraine continues into its eighteenth month.
"From January 1 to August 3, more than 231.000 people were hired under the contract," Medvedev said during a televised meeting.
The former Russian president, who currently serves as the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, reported in May that the army recruited 120.000 people at the time, reports N1.
A Russian court fined Apple 400.000 rubles ($4.400) for failing to remove content it deemed "false information" about Russian military actions in Ukraine.
A judge in the Magistrates' Court, which deals with administrative offenses and lower-level criminal cases, found Apple guilty of failing to delete podcasts and apps that spread allegedly false information about the conflict in Ukraine, Russian news agency Interfax reported.
Since the start of the war in February 2022, Russia has enacted a series of measures to punish any criticism or questioning of military actions.

During the previous night, the Ukrainian air defense shot down about 15 unmanned aerial vehicles that were moving towards Kiev, said this morning the head of the military administration of Kiev, Sergej Popko.
Ukrainian forces "discovered and destroyed about 15 air targets" on the approach to Kiev, Popko said on Telegram, adding that they were explosive drones of the "shahed" type.
"According to currently available information, there were no casualties or damage in the capital," he added.
The air raid, the 820th in a row in Kiev since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, lasted three hours, Popko said.
Moscow regularly sends Iranian explosive drones to Ukraine.
