Latvian Prime Minister Krišjanis Karinš said on Monday that he and his cabinet would resign during the week.
"On Thursday, August 17, I will submit my resignation to President Edgars Rinkevičs along with the rest of the administration," said Karinš.
At the end of last week, Karinš expressed his hope that he will reshuffle the cabinet after his coalition partners rejected his proposal for a reshuffle.
He emphasized that his party Novo Jedinstvo plans to choose its candidate for the position of prime minister in the technical mandate on Wednesday.
Analysts point out that President Rinkevičs will give a mandate to a new potential representative in order to try to form an administration.
Any new coalition will also face a vote in parliament before taking office.
New parliamentary elections in Latvia are planned for 2026.
