The court in Moscow today extended for three months the detention of American journalist Evan Geršković, who was arrested in March for alleged espionage.
Gershkovich, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, has been detained in Russia on charges of espionage.
Geršković was arrested in Yekaterinburg in March on a journalistic assignment.
He and his employer deny the charges, and the US government has said he was wrongfully detained and demanded his immediate release.
Russian authorities have not provided any evidence to support the espionage allegations.
The Moscow court previously ordered his detention until August 30, to which his lawyers filed an appeal, which was rejected by the city court in Moscow.
Earlier this month, US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy visited Gershkovich for the third time and announced that he is in good health despite his current situation. He is imprisoned in Moscow's Lefortovo prison, notorious for its harsh conditions.
Gershkovich is the first American reporter to face espionage charges in Russia since September 1986, when the KGB arrested Nikolas Danilof.
