From Friday, September 1, Paris will become the first European capital to ban the operation of electronic scooters on its streets.
At the referendum held in April, the residents of Paris supported the ban of these devices with almost 90 percent.
The ban refers to rented tricycles that have been offered by several companies since 2018, although people also operated their own two-wheelers on the streets of the city of light.
Only in a small zone in the center of Paris will be allowed to drive scooters until it is completely abolished.
Scooters were offered for their effect on reducing pollution, but they were criticized because, according to the authorities, ten users died in France in July alone.
