Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the terrorists who carried out the bomb attack in front of the Ministry of Interior in Ankara failed in their "last attempt" to threaten the peace and security of citizens.
They "have not achieved their goals and will never achieve them," Erdogan told lawmakers, adding in a speech that Turkey would continue to ensure its southern borders were secure from outside militants.
A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device near the Ministry of Interior a few hours before the parliamentary session was due to begin.
The parliament building is located a kilometer away from the site of the explosion.
Two members of the police force were slightly injured in the explosion.
