Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily is spewing ash and lava again.
Volcanic activity continued on Mount Etna, which is about 3,3 thousand meters high, during the previous weekend, Anadolia reports.
Italy's National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) said volcanic activity in Etna was limited to the southeast crater.
INGV issued a warning for planes passing through the region, adding that Catania's Fontanarosa airport was not affected by the latest volcanic activity.
Etna is the largest and most active volcano in Europe.
Its frequent eruptions are often accompanied by large lava flows, but they rarely pose a danger to populated areas.
Etna is one of the volcanoes with the longest historical record of eruptions.
