Russia carried out a six-hour drone strike in southern Ukraine on Thursday, wounding at least 11 people, including three children, and causing extensive damage to civilians and port infrastructure in the Odesa region and the Danube region near the Romanian border, Ukraine's Southern Defense Forces said.
Air defense said it destroyed two drones in the Kherson region, five in Nikolaevsk and 32 in Odesa region, according to a statement carried by the Ukrainian service of Radio Free Europe (RSE).
In the city of Odessa, a dozen buildings were damaged by drone debris.
Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper said that two grain warehouses in the Danube port of Izmail were also damaged.
In Russia, two drones over Moscow were shot down by Russian air defense, the mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram, adding that there were no injuries and no serious damage.
Russian news agency Interfax reported that the Defense Ministry said air defenses had shot down nine Ukrainian drones over the Kaluga and Moscow regions on Thursday.
Those claims could not be independently verified.
