Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on January 10 that any delay in Western aid to Kiev was encouraging the Kremlin, almost two years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky was in Lithuania's capital, Vilnius, as part of a surprise visit to the Baltic states, to secure Western military and financial support for the war.
"He (Russian President Vladimir Putin) will not stop," Zelensky said at a press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Naused.
"He wants to occupy us completely," adds the Ukrainian president, "and sometimes, the insecurity of partners in terms of financial and military aid to Ukraine only increases Russia's courage and strength."
Zelensky's comments come as Western partners waver over continued support for Ukraine.
Zelensky warned that Putin will not stop at Ukraine, but will attack other neighbors if the allies do not join forces to stop him.
"We have to understand that Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova can be next if we (Ukraine) don't stop him," he added.
Zelensky also emphasized that in the days when Russia renews its massive airstrikes, Kyiv "very much lacks" modern air defense systems.
"In recent days, Russia attacked Ukraine with a total of 500 different missiles: we destroyed 70 percent of them. Air defense systems are the number one thing we lack," Zelensky said.
The tour of the three former Soviet republics of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia - all now members of the EU and NATO - is Zelensky's first official trip abroad this year.
As he announced earlier, on the agenda of the meeting with the Baltic leaders are security, support for Ukraine, integration into the EU and NATO, and further coordination of European support.
Meanwhile, a full air strike alert was declared in Ukraine on the morning of January 10, and authorities sent citizens to shelters due to the increased risk of Russian missile strikes.
In the past few days, Ukraine has experienced several massive Russian drone and missile attacks. As a result of these shellings, hundreds were wounded and dozens died.
