Today, Ukraine ordered the evacuation of 26 villages from the Kharkiv region in the northeast of the country, due to repeated attacks by the Russian army in that zone.
"Given the situation, we are introducing a mandatory evacuation of the population from the communities of Kindrashivska and Kurlivska in the Kupyansk district," regional governor Oleg Sinegubov wrote on social networks.
He named the 26 places affected by the order, which are home to 3.043 people, including 279 children.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that last night's Russian artillery attack wounded at least three people in the town of New York, which is located in the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, and that five people are still under the rubble.
The Russian military attacked the site with guided bombs, the ministry said. Six three-story buildings and three houses were damaged in the attacks.
Russia announced today that during the night it neutralized several Ukrainian drones over its border areas with Ukraine, and that a girl was wounded in one of the attacks.
As stated by the local authorities, five Ukrainian drones were destroyed, three were intercepted over the Voronezh region and four over the Belgorod region, which are located on the border with Ukraine.
The girl, born in 2013, was injured by fragments of a downed drone that fell on her building, said the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev.
In recent weeks, Kiev and Moscow have stepped up attacks in a war that has lasted almost two years.
