At least one person was killed when two masked men carried out an attack during a ceremony at a Roman Catholic church in Istanbul, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Jerlikaya said.
The attack took place around 11.40:XNUMX local time in the Sarijer neighborhood, on the European side of the city, the minister said on social media.
The investigation into the attack is ongoing.
According to the minister, a person who attended the church ceremony was killed.
Minister Jerlikaja strongly condemned the attack, for which no one has yet claimed responsibility.
