Ukraine and Russia announced that on February 15, rocket and drone attacks were carried out on their territories, in which several civilians were killed and injured and material damage was caused.
Ukraine has declared a full airstrike alert for the second time after Russian MiG 31 warplanes were detected taking off from military airfields in Russia.
Oleh Sinyehubov, the governor of Ukraine's eastern Kharkiv region, said the death toll from an overnight Russian rocket attack on the village of Veliki Burluk near the Russian border had risen to five, after the body of a 27-year-old woman was pulled from the rubble.
"So far it is known that five civilians were killed - three women aged 74, 54 and 27 and two men aged 41 and 53," Sinjehubov wrote on Telegram.
Local authorities said Russian S-300 guided missiles hit a two-story apartment building and another one next to it.
The head of Kyiv's military administration, Sergej Popko, said that all rockets targeting the city had been shot down and that there were no casualties after the first airstrike, which lasted more than two hours in the morning.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovoi said the explosions blew out windows in several buildings, but there were no casualties. Zaporozhye Governor Ivan Fedorov said that an infrastructure facility in the city was hit and that one person was wounded.
Ukraine's military air defenses said they shot down 13 of 26 missiles launched by Russia in the latest wave of strikes on February 15.
Air warnings continued for more than two hours across Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian state media reported that Ukrainian missiles hit a shopping center in the western city of Belgorod, located about 30 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that at least five people were killed and that considerable material damage was caused.
"According to preliminary data, five people, including one child, were killed in Belgorod, 18 more people were injured, five of whom were children. Emergency crews transported the injured to medical facilities. All necessary help was provided," Gladkov wrote on Telegram. .
Videos showing the damaged shopping center are circulating on social networks.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense forces shot down 14 Ukrainian missiles in the Belgorod region.
Ukraine did not comment on the Russian claim, which could not immediately be independently verified.
Meanwhile, an oil storage facility near the western Russian city of Kursk near the border with Ukraine caught fire after it was hit by Ukrainian drones early on February 15, regional governor Roman Starovoit said on Telegram, adding that there were no casualties.
Kyiv did not comment on these allegations.
The Baza channel on Telegram reported that a tank with a volume of 100 tons caught fire. Another Telegram channel 112 reported that two drones hit an oil storage facility.
