Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy appointed the former secretary of the Council for National Security and Defense Oleksei Danilov as the Ukrainian ambassador to Moldova.
As reported by Radio Free Europe, Zelenski said that Danilov, whom he previously dismissed from the National Security and Defense Council, "will continue his work in a diplomatic direction."
Zelensky pointed out that Moldova is an extremely important country for Ukraine.
"Both from the point of view of security challenges in the region, and from the point of view of bilateral cooperation," he said.
Oleksandr Danilov was succeeded as secretary of the National Security Council by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleksandr Litvinenko.
