Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised today that Turkey will do "everything possible" to bring the "barbaric" government and Benjamin Netanyahu to account, comparing the Israeli prime minister to Slobodan Milosevic, Radovan Karadzic and Adolf Hitler.
"Turkey will do everything possible to bring these barbarians and these murderers who have nothing to do with humanity to account," Erdogan said of the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip town of Rafah that began last weekend.
He added that "the massacre, a day after the appeal of the International Court of Justice to stop the attacks, once again showed the cruel and treacherous face of the terrorist state".
"Just like Hitler, Milosevic, Karadzic and other admired pharaohs of history, they will not be able to escape the curse," Erdogan said.
The Palestinian Authority and Hamas accused Israel of carrying out a "massacre" by targeting a center for displaced people near Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, where at least 40 people were killed and 64 wounded. The Israeli army said the target was terrorists.
