The number of unemployed in Germany in June increased by about four thousand compared to May, to 2,73 million, the federal labor agency announced.
The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5,8 percent.
In a year-on-year comparison, there were 172 more unemployed, reports B92.
The number of people without work in June, due to seasonal work, usually falls. The trend has evaporated in recent years due to the pandemic and then the arrival of Ukrainian refugees, reports dpa.
This year, however, it is attributable solely to economic factors.
"The weakness of the labor market continues. Seasonally adjusted unemployment and underemployment figures rose noticeably in June. The economy has held back on job creation," said the agency's president, Andrea Nales.
As a result, the number of classifieds jobs decreases. In June, the Agency noted 701 thousand of them, that is, about 69 thousand less than a year ago.
