Several hundred people participated in today's bull run, which is traditionally held in Pamplona (Spain).
The San Fermin festival is held despite protests by animal rights activists.
The San Fermin Festival takes place every year from July 6 to 14.
The running of the bulls, during which purpose-bred fighting bulls and runners race through the narrow streets of Pamplona's old quarter on an 800-meter course, lasts seven days, including the weekend when they are usually at their most dangerous due to larger crowds.
There are eight races in total, each usually lasting three to five minutes. In the evening, the bulls end up in the arena, where they are eventually killed.
The event originates from the 16th century, in honor of the saint and patron of Pamplona, San Fermin.
The festival was immortalized by the famous Ernest Hemingway in the novel "The Sun Rises Again".
