Ukraine launched dozens of drones in at least three regions of Russia last night, setting fire to two oil facilities, Russian authorities said.
Rostov Oblast Governor Vasiliy Golubev said 55 "Ukrainian drones" attacked the area overnight, damaging "warehouses in the Kamensky and Morozovsky districts."
He pointed out that for now there are no reported victims.
In the Morozovsky region, there is a military airport that was previously the target of drone attacks. A video published by the Astra Telegram channel allegedly shows fires at the airport and in an oil warehouse in the Kamenski region.
Belgorod Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that an oil tank there was destroyed in a drone attack, but that there were no reports of casualties. He added that the fire was localized.
The governor of the Oryol region, Andrey Klichkov, wrote on Telegram that three drones were destroyed, while "two drones fell on a residential building." He also stated that there were no reported victims.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that 36 drones were intercepted during the night, 17 in Orel, nine in Belgorod and eight in the Kursk region. A small number of drones were reportedly intercepted over Ryazan Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, Voronezh Oblast and the Sea of Azov.
Radio Free Europe is unable to independently confirm these allegations by Russia.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army announced on Saturday that it had shot down 24 Russian drones overnight in Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions.
Ukrainian authorities reported that five civilians were killed and 22 wounded in Russian shelling in the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
Despite evidence to the contrary, Russia maintains that it is not targeting Ukrainian civilians in the war.
The United Nations human rights monitoring mission said at least 11.284 Ukrainian civilians had been killed by enemy fire since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, stressing that the actual figure was likely higher.
