Three women were injured today after lightning struck a crowded beach in Alba Adriatica, a summer resort in the Italian region of Abruzzo on the Adriatic Sea, ANSA reports.
Two women are in serious condition, including a 41-year-old woman who went into cardiac arrest.
She was transferred by helicopter to the Macini Hospital in Teram, where she is in the intensive care unit.
Another tourist in serious condition is a 64-year-old Belgian woman who temporarily lost feeling in her legs and had a heart attack.
