Russian President Vladimir Putin today called on the government to develop a program for the promotion of "traditional Russian spiritual and moral values" abroad.
A statement was published on the Kremlin's website that Putin had ordered officials responsible for national projects to allocate an unspecified amount of money for a program called "Russia in the World."
The program would aim to "develop international youth cooperation and promote traditional Russian spiritual and moral values abroad," the order states.
The order does not specify the values to be promoted, but Russia has shown a growing animosity towards Western social liberalism, particularly towards the acceptance of non-traditional sexual relations and gender identity.
Last year, the Russian Supreme Court banned the so-called "international LGBT movement" as extremist. Some Russians have since been jailed or fined for displaying LGBT rainbow material.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine in 2022, Putin has publicly characterized the West as "satanic" and accused it of trying to undermine Russia by exporting liberal ideologies.
