Romania: Tate brothers detained after police house search

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been remanded in custody after being questioned by Romanian anti-corruption prosecutors as part of an investigation into new allegations against them.

On August 21, Romanian investigators conducted four searches at the homes of the Tate brothers, who are awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal group for the sexual exploitation of women.

The Agency for Combating Organized Crime of Romania (DIICOT) announced that the searches were carried out as part of an investigation into allegations of human trafficking, sexual relations with minors, influencing witness statements and money laundering.
