The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borelj, said today, on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, that the EU reaffirms its support for Ukraine in its struggle.
"Ukraine has been bravely defending its freedom and independence against Russian aggression for two and a half years," Borel wrote on the Ix network.
"On this Nezavinsoti Day, I reaffirm our commitment to support Ukraine in its existential struggle, which is also an existential struggle for the EU, Ukraine will prevail," Borelj wrote and concluded with the words "Glory to Ukraine".
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Europe will always be with Ukraine, because "Ukraine is Europe".
"Your freedom is our freedom. Your safety is our safety. We have been with you since day one and will continue to be with you as long as it takes. I wish our friends a proud Independence Day," Von der Leyen wrote on the X network.
The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, joined the congratulations, who wrote on the X network that freedom lies at the heart of independence and that these are the values that brave Ukrainians fight for every day.
"Freedom to live in peace, in democracy. As we strengthen our path towards a common European future, I wish all the best to the people of Ukraine on Independence Day," Metsola wrote.
Ukraine is celebrating the 33rd anniversary of its independence today.
